The Thesis
In this assignment, you will work on the development of an integrated simulation model for a wind turbine foundation. The main challenge is to integrate the concrete, the steel reinforcements, and the connection to the tower into a single Finite Element model with volume (3D) elements. Currently, this is done using separate calculations and FE analyses, primarily with 2D elements.

You will work alongside experienced structural and civil engineers, contributing to the development and optimization of the design, as well as implementing new functionalities. Additionally, you will gain experience working with advanced analysis software and industry standards for wind energy, specifically related to structural engineering. You will also participate in internal and external training focused on both expanding your knowledge of wind turbine technology and our organization, as well as your personal development.

In short, this assignment offers you the chance to gain hands-on experience in structural/civil product development.

This is what we ask from you

• A technical education at HBO or university level, such as Civil Engineering or a comparable field of study.

• A strong interest in engineering and renewables, with the ambition to further develop yourself in this area.

• Eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude, and a hands-on mentality.

• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.

• Experience with simulation software (Ansys) and Finite Element Analysis is a plus.

• Motivation to develop yourself into a skilled Structural/Civil Engineer.
