THE ROLE
At Damen Naval, we are seeking a Technical Specialist in Electrical Systems to lead the engineering and development of specialized electrical systems for our cutting-edge projects. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will use your expertise in power generation, energy storage, electrical distribution, and system integration to drive innovation and ensure the success of complex projects.
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of specialists, ensuring the verification of electrical system performance during critical project phases. You will support research projects, assist in technical proposals, and ensure that all technical requirements are met throughout the design, testing, and validation stages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a technical expert and providing innovative solutions for complex electrical systems across research, engineering, and proposals.
- Supporting design reviews and validation tests, ensuring adherence to project requirements and specifications.
- Actively contributing to the development and promotion of your area of expertise, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Delivering high-quality engineering solutions within agreed schedules, ensuring strict compliance with all relevant technical standards and regulations.
- Driving innovation in electrical systems design, contributing to the optimization of tools, processes, and technical methodologies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Energy Systems, with at least five years of practical experience.
- Expertise in power generation, energy conversion, energy storage, and electrical distribution systems within complex project environments, especially in naval vessels or offshore installations.
- Familiarity with maritime systems dynamics and control systems is advantageous.
- Experience in academic research and collaboration with research institutes, universities, and industry stakeholders is preferred.
Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
