Introduction to the job

An ASML machine contains thousands of parts. This ‘configuration’ can change during the different stages of the machine’s lifecycle. To keep track of this configuration and the changes, the IT Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) department provides various software solutions. One of them is myChange, which streamlines the submission, approval, and implementation of change requests, ensuring changes are implemented in a controlled and systematic way.

By joining the myChange team, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation and maintaining the flexibility and adaptability of our PLM systems, enabling ASML to respond effectively to evolving business requirements and technological advancements.

Role and Responsibilities

Your goal is to understand our user’s needs and requirements and translate them into well-thought-out functional and visual designs. This all to realize significant user experience improvements of our internal business applications, in order to increase user efficiency, effectiveness, satisfaction, and adoption. You will conduct user research, design interactions, create mockups, apply and contribute to the ASML design guidelines, and validate prototypes with a global user base.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that consists of, for example, a product owner, a solution architect, a business process analyst, and software developers. You will be defining, embedding, and executing the user-centered design process.

As UX/UI specialist, you’ll:

  • Prepare and execute user research methods such as contextual inquiry and task analysis and communicate findings using personas, user journeys, user stories

  • Validate prototypes through local, remote, moderated, and unmoderated usability tests and define and track quantitative UX metrics to evaluate design effectiveness

  • Collect and analyze information from business, user, and technology perspectives and communicate concepts with clear rationale and persuasive power

  • Ensure that your designs are aligned with the functional and technical stakeholders and document requirements, priorities, design choices, and rules

  • Define the right user-centered design approach based on the projects or agile team’s goals and status quo (budget, timelines, availability of skills, etc.)

  • Embed the approach in the projects or agile team’s way of working and safeguard it and convince stakeholders of the impact of UX design

  • Identify and act on improvements in processes, collaboration, and ways of working

Education and experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on high-tech products and with complex processes. As UX/UI specialist, you’ll need:

  • Experience with moderating participatory design/co-creation/design thinking workshops

  • Experience with Miro and Figma

  • Experience with Material Design

  • Experience with Big Data & Data Visualization

Skills

Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve – and working together is the only way to do that. You won’t work in a silo. Instead, you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. There is always space for creative and unique points of view. You’ll have the flexibility and trust to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems. Success in this role requires the following skills:

  • Ability to plan work and deliver on agreed goals independently
