You’ll be part of the Siemens Center of Competence for Data Center Projects who delivers a full range of power distribution systems and solutions, which is based in The Hague, Erlangen and Chennai. The complexity in our projects is determined by size, speed, location(s) and continuous pressure in realization. In other words, dynamic projects with great clients.
As working student procurement, you will have a lot of contact with colleagues from other departments, such as sales, bid management, engineers, project management and project controllers. In addition to this support, you will also be involved in important topics such as supplier management, quality management, process optimization, sustainability and digitization.
You will make a difference by:
· Focusing on the procurement of logistic services and a quasi-Junior role to experience first-hand the actual works of a procurement officer in actual project business.
o Lead and Coordinate Requests for Quotations.
o Lead contract negotiations and secure price agreements with various suppliers.
o Lead the supplier selection, prepare and document contract awards.
Of course, you will carry out this works under supervision of an experienced colleague.
· In addition, you will support the procurement responsible of technical equipment such as power supplies & batteries, cabinet assembly services, IT Hardware and sensors or transformers. This also to get insight in other commodities and the day-to-day business.
· Supporting the Procurement Lead to organize and enforce team actions and special topics like Supplier (Quality management), Sustainability, Capacity Planning and building up team specific dashboards.
· Participate and supporting organizing procurement team meetings
Helping us drive our future vision, your toolkit may include some of these key skills:
· a strong communicator and fluent in English (and Dutch) both verbally as in writing.
· enjoy working in an international environment with projects in Europe (and Asia).
· a keen eye for details, easily take initiative and you are analytical.
· stress resistant and able to act within a hectic environment.
· practical, enjoy being part of a team and working together.
· in the progress of getting a bachelor's degree in procurement management, supply chain management, business administration or a completed NEVI 1 procurement training (or equivalent education or experience).
· legal affinity, so you can easily learn how to set up and manage contracts.
· A technical base education to understand the workings and manufacturing procedures of technical equipments.

The Team
You will be part of the procurement team in The Hague, consisting of your manager Michael and 10 procurement colleagues. A close-knit diverse team with different cultural backgrounds, where cooperation, respect, honesty and humor are key. The working language is English and Dutch.
