Freight cost control analyst

Plan and Deliver Global Freight guarantees the distribution of materials by organizing and operating a logistic network of warehouses, customs and freight. The Freight department is responsible to organize and operate the global logistics network in line with customer requirements. A flawless distribution network is key for a smooth supply chain. Fast and flexible transportation networks, differentiated warehousing solutions and complex value-added services are some characteristics of our landscape in which we need to store and deliver anything from a tiny box to a huge and sensitive system with leading edge technology. Diverse supply-chain requirements drive the need for a dynamic, precise and improvement seeking cost control team. Through market intelligence, innovation and process analytics, the team provides cost related insights to internal stakeholders, predicts future cost trends and oversees actual spend against budget.

The cost control analyst role covers the monitoring, forecasting and reporting of Freight spend, while seeking for continuous improvement on all Freight cost related items. The analyst will be responsible for a subset of our transport flows and will drive structural improvements to the cost control processes to achieve a maturity. More specifically the role covers:

• Monthly, Quarterly and Annual forecasting preparation

• Accountability for Freight cost invoicing and reporting

• Ownership of cost transparency metrics

• Validation of relevant cost reduction projects

• Freight expenditure analysis and insight generation towards relevant stakeholders

• Continuous improvement of cost reporting and invoice process functions

• Bachelor in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

• 2-5 years of relevant work experience with cost control in a transportation department or company

• Having an analytical background with advanced competences in MS Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI is a must

• Required: knowledge of planning systems (SAP) and transport management systems

• Proficient level of English in written and spoken
