Group Leader and Competence owner DUV

Introduction to the job

Working at the forefront of semiconductor manufacturing by designing integral solutions for the world’s most advanced lithography tools.

The DUV D&E (Development and Engineering) Wafer flow and Dynamics department is responsible for the Wafer flow and system dynamics, getting the wafer in a controlled way from wafer track through the Wafer Handler towards the wafer stage. On the wafer stage we control the wafer on nanometer accuracy in combination with very high speeds and accelerations.  We as department are End-to-end responsible for the complete design, integration, testing and industrialization of the wafer stage, wafer handler and system dynamics.

The holder of this position will be the group manager for the DUV Control group. and the owner of the Servo Control competence.  

Role and Responsibilities

As manager of the group DUV Control Mechatronics, you lead and manage a group of professionals in the area of Control in multi-disciplinary projects, including a Team Lead who is responsible for part of the team.

You will act as solution provider of advanced control, based on leading edge designs and modeling methods. You achieve alignment with Function Owners on the contents and staffing of DUV development projects. You drive and develop the Servo Control competence.

You stimulate the knowledge base and technical roadmaps related to Control within the ASML portfolio and you are responsible for searching innovative applications of the technology for the future challenges of ASML.

You stimulate and facilitate the personal development of your group members. You are involved in the ASML Operating Model (ADM - agile organization model comparable with SAFE) way of working.

Tasks

• Lead the group (~25 FTE); coach and instruct the members: allots tasks, sets priorities, solves problems, and monitors budgets. You help our employees to drive their own development through your coaching methods, routines, target setting and feedback.
• Owner of the development and maintenance of the Servo Control competence. You ensure the availability and adoption of best known methods, standards and tooling. You facilitate an effective learning feedback cycle and manage the relations of other function and competence owners in and outside ASML. You drive the road-mapping process of the Control competence.
• Contribute to the definition and implementation of departmental policy and departmental planning, including personnel, budgets, investments, resources and methods.
• Drive ADM process and continuously work on improvements.
• Stimulate the product and customer mind-set of the group-members at the fore-front of the technical development.
• Responsible for the planning and allocation of human resources to the various project activities, in cooperation with departmental leaders and project management.
• Hire world-class group-members to excel in project and product deliverables, particularly within the competence areas of the group.
• You stimulate studies via internships. The group has an internship program where several students have an internship or work on their thesis. 
• Stimulate and coordinate joined development with 3rd parties like universities.  

Educational and experience

• Technical University (Master) or PhD in Mechatronic, Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

• Relevant leadership experience as manager or senior architect in a multidisciplinary working environment. Knowledge in Control design, interests in position measurement systems, handling systems, actuator/motor design, dynamics.
