To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent
RWE, one of Europe’s largest energy companies, produces electricity at more than 10 locations in the Netherlands and works globally towards a CO2-neutral energy supply. We focus on sustainable energy sources such as wind, solar, battery storage, and hydrogen, with the goal of achieving CO2 neutrality by 2040. For our power plant in Eemshaven, we are looking for a full-time H&S Advisor/Safety Expert to strengthen our safety policy.
As an H&S Advisor/Safety Expert, you play an important role. You will be responsible for general safety support and will work as a safety specialist in accordance with Dutch legislation and standards (including the Occupational Health and Safety Act). You will work closely with colleagues from operations, engineering & maintenance, and contractors on-site.
About the role
- You are an expert who collaborates with an engaged and proactive management team to maintain and ensure a safe working environment for all employees on-site.
- You ensure the further development and regular maintenance of the health and safety management system.
- You implement the necessary protective measures on-site in accordance with ISO 45001.
- You support and further develop our "Mission ZERO" safety culture program.
- You assist line management in investigating accidents/incidents.
- You provide safety-related training and courses.
- You coordinate the site-specific safety improvement plan.
Your profile
- You have completed a Higher Safety Expert (HVK) diploma.
- You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position.
- Experience with implementing a safety management system, preferably aligned with ISO 9001, 45001, or similar.
- Analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Good knowledge of Dutch occupational health and safety legislation.
- Proficient in both Dutch and English, additional languages are a plus.
- High level of independence, responsibility, and decision-making ability.
- Strong team spirit with good communication and presentation skills.
